NovaCore Studios LLC built the Safe Open app as an Ad-Supported/Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by NovaCore Studios LLC at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service. Safe Open is designed with a privacy-first approach, meaning the core functionality operates entirely locally on your device without the need for remote servers or user accounts.
Accessibility Service API (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE)
Safe Open utilizes the Android Accessibility Service API strictly to detect window state changes (TYPE_WINDOW_STATE_CHANGED). This is the only way for the app to instantly detect when you open an application that you have selected to be muted, allowing us to automatically lower your device's media volume to prevent unexpected loud noises in public.
Important Privacy Disclosure: We do NOT use the Accessibility API to read, collect, store, or share your screen content, personal information, keystrokes, or any other sensitive data. The service operates completely locally on your device. It is exclusively used to read the package name of the currently active app and compare it against your local mute list.
Installed Packages Visibility (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)
Safe Open requires the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission to function properly. The app's core purpose is to allow you to select which of your installed applications should be automatically muted when opened. To provide this functionality, the app must be able to discover and list all applications installed on your device so you can choose from them.
This list of installed apps is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third parties.
Audio Settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS)
To fulfill its main purpose, Safe Open requires permission to modify your device's audio settings. This permission is used exclusively to lower the media volume to zero when a protected app is opened, and to restore it once the app is closed. We do not use this permission to record audio or access your microphone.
Third-Party Services & Advertising
We use third-party services, such as Google AdMob, to display advertisements within the app to keep it free. These services may collect certain device information and advertising identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID) to provide personalized ads and for analytics purposes.

Data Retention and Deletion
Because Safe Open does not require user registration or cloud synchronization, all your app preferences, lists of protected apps, and settings are stored locally on your device's internal storage. If you wish to delete all your data, simply uninstall the Safe Open application or clear the app's data from your Android device settings.
Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
